Aging Well Nova Scotia is seeking Volunteer Board Directors to represent
Nova Scotia’s Western Regions and a Director at Large

Aging Well Nova Scotia has a governance Board of 8 -10 members.

Membership on the Aging Well Nova Scotia Board of Directors offers an opportunity to set the strategic direction, inspire change and provide governance to the organization and its members. Your participation will help to promote age-friendly, inclusive communities, and strengthen the Community Based Senior Serving sector.

Please note that the Western region encompasses Annapolis Valley, South Shore and Tri-Counties.  Directors at Large may reside in and represent any region of Nova Scotia. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Commitment to improving the quality of life and well-being of older Nova Scotians and the development of age friendly communities

  • Knowledge and skills in one or more areas of Board governance in particular fund development, legal council, and non-profit policies.

  • Experience in equity, diversity and inclusion issues; community development; collective impact; advocacy; and social wellbeing are assets.

  • Represent and understand issues from a provincial and regional perspective.

  • Understanding of or experience with issues faced by older adults in rural areas and from diverse communities preferred.
